Gingerbread Bites

Get your glass of milk ready, these bite size treats are perfect for dunking and are super scrumptious.


Ingredients

125g Devondale Unsalted Butter
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup golden syrup
1 egg
2 ½ cups plain flour
1 tsp ground ginger
2 tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp ground cloves
1 tsp bicarb soda
1 ½ cups icing sugar mixture, sifted
2 tsp Devondale Full Cream Fresh Milk


Directions

  1. Ask an adult to preheat the oven to 180°C. Melt butter, sugar and golden syrup together in the microwave. Stir to combine and cool slightly.
  2. Whisk egg and butter mixture in a large bowl. Sift flour, spices and bicarb soda over the butter mixture and mix until combined into a smooth dough. Cover with cling wrap and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Roll dough into 3cm balls and place onto lined baking trays. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden. Cool completely on trays.
  4. Place icing sugar and milk into bowl and milk until slightly runny. Use a teaspoon to drizzle icing over ginger shortbread bites. Enjoy!
